Hello! I am Lola Gonzalez and I am honoured to be selected to contest the Local Elections in Carrick-on-Shannon in June 2024. I moved here nine years ago and work as a Diversity & Inclusion EU Project Specialist in Leitrim village. In addition, I have spent many years volunteering within our community as I know that we live in a very special place with so much to offer. I want to be a voice that enables us all to reach our full potential.
I can bring new innovative and inclusive ideas into our council chamber. I want to ensure our Council is transparent, accountable, and fair. I want to make sure that affordable and accessible housing is a top priority. We need sustainable and connected public transport, and roads that are safe for our children to walk and cycle. I want to ensure that fast Broadband connection is a reality, not just a dream for homes and businesses across the County. I will fight to protect our biodiversity and champion a fair transition towards a carbon neutral economy.
In order to win a seat, I need to raise money to pay for leaflets, posters and social media advertising. I don't have the same resources as those running from more traditional parties. Therefore, I'm asking for your support.
