Meet Lola, our 9-year-old Boston Terrier.
She's the absolute light of our lives.
A dancing (yes, dancing), cuddly, goofy ball of energy.
At the end of last year, she started having unexplained seizures. Today, we found out she has cancer - a brain tumor that's difficult to operate on and requires immediate radiation therapy.
We're absolutely devastated.
At the high end, the doctor expects her radiation therapy to cost $15,000. That doesn't include travel and accommodations to Oregon, where the nearest oncology provider is located. Each treatment requires general anesthesia and several days on site.
It seems like a lot. But for Lola, these trips to Oregon could mean two more years of high-quality life.
Two more years of attacking us (and everyone she meets) with kisses.
Two more years of demanding snacks from her favorite baristas.
Two more years of snuggling close every chance she gets.
Two more years of scenic car rides with the windows rolled down.
Two more years bossing around her sisters, Scarlet and Piper.
Two more years of sharing her big heart, her love, and her ridiculously happy energy with a world that is unbelievably lucky to have her in it.
Whatever happens, we're committed to giving Lola the best days she can possibly have until it's time to say goodbye. If anyone deserves that, it's her.
And if you can help us accomplish this in any way (no matter how big or small), we'd be eternally grateful.
Thank you and lots of love.
KT + Nick
