My wife and I adopted Loki a little over a month ago, and he’s quickly become a beloved member of our family. He’s playful, energetic, and has formed a loving bond with our other cat. Recently, Loki started limping and developed a swollen leg. We immediately reached out to a vet tech friend, who urged us to get him seen by a vet right away. The first relief vet diagnosed him with a sprained leg and prescribed pain medication, but after three days, Loki’s condition worsened. We sought a second opinion from another relief vet with emergency experience, who performed ultrasounds and examinations. This vet discovered that Loki had an infection in his leg, which was both frightening and frustrating for us, especially after the initial misdiagnosis. We started Loki on antibiotics and pain medication, and while his swelling began to decrease, it soon plateaued. Despite our efforts, Loki continued to struggle—he couldn’t walk, needed help to use the bathroom, and was clearly in pain. We took him to MarQueen Animal Emergency Vet, where they found a new abscess that needs to be drained. The doctor also suspects possible trauma to his knee and leg from a previous injury, though we’re still investigating all possible causes to ensure Loki gets the best care. The costs for Loki’s treatment have quickly added up, and we’re now facing significant vet bills for ultrasounds, specialist consultations, abscess drainage, and ongoing care. We want nothing more than to see Loki healthy and happy again, but these expenses are overwhelming for us right now. We’re reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help. Your support will go directly toward Loki’s medical bills and recovery, giving him the chance to return to his playful, loving self. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for Loki and our family. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time.
