Help Lois Start Her Medical Path to Becoming a Doctor

Hi, my name is Lois, and I’m raising funds to participate in the Spanish Shadow Abroad Program in Latin America. This incredible program will allow me to spend six weeks in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Quito, Ecuador, where I’ll gain valuable shadowing experience in the medical field, practical clinical hours, and Spanish language training.

As someone pursuing a career in medicine, specifically as a pediatrician, I’m passionate about helping others, serving underserved communities, and bridging the gap in healthcare communication. My faith and love for God inspire me to serve others with compassion and to use my gifts to make a difference in people’s lives. One of the biggest challenges in medicine today is the language barrier between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking doctors. This program is specifically designed to help future healthcare professionals like me develop the skills to treat Spanish-speaking patients safely and with cultural empathy.

The money I’m raising will go towards:

    •    Living expenses for my six weeks in Latin America

    •    My plane ticket

    •    Food and daily provisions during my stay

    •    Tuition and fees

This opportunity will not only help me become fluent in Spanish but also provide me with hands-on experience that will prepare me to make a real difference in patients' lives. I want to save lives, alleviate suffering, and improve the overall health and well-being of the people I serve.
