Hey everyone! I have amazing news. I’ve been approved for a surgery that will correct my sternum malformation.

I have what’s called Pectus Excavatum, which means that my sternum grows too close to my spine, putting pressure on my heart and lungs. It makes me short of breath, I have trouble exercising for a long time, and even on short things like standing up quickly or going up a flight of stairs I can be left light headed.

This is a condition I’ve had since I was little, and I’ve wanted to have this procedure for over a decade. I’ve worked hard to get a good health insurance, pay for all my Dr’s visits and pre-op procedures, and I have enough saved for the procedure, and now the only thing standing in my way is the money I’ll need to cover my living costs during the recovery.

I’m gonna be out of work for a minimum of one month which may be longer based on my recovery, and this is what I’m asking your help for.

It’s a major surgery where they will be opening my chest and removing pieces of my ribs and reattaching them, so I want to save up for the possibility of two months out of work, which comes to $2,998.56. I’ve itemized my expenses below to show you how I got this number.

Right now I have a plan to save up for this over the next few months, but I want to ask for your help so I can get this surgery that I’ve wanted to have for over ten years done asap.
