Help Logan Rebuild His Life

Hello, my name is Andy, and I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my 20-year-old grandson, Logan — a kind, generous, and big-hearted young man whose life was suddenly and violently turned upside down.

Earlier this month, Logan was on a camping trip with friends — a time that should have been filled with fun and peace. Instead, it became a nightmare. Logan stepped in to defend a young woman who was being mistreated, and in doing so, he was attacked by two individuals. The assault left him with a broken neck and brought him within just 2 millimeters of losing his life.

He underwent emergency surgery on May 5th to repair the damaged vertebrae in his neck. Thanks to the incredible medical team and his own strength, Logan made it through, but his recovery journey has only just begun.

Logan is now back home, but he remains in a neck brace and requires 24-hour support for many daily tasks. He is unable to work, drive, or live independently at the moment. And he still faces another surgery to repair nerve damage in his left arm, followed by intensive physical therapy. The road ahead is long, painful, and uncertain.

His parents had to fly in on emergency flights to be by his side — a cost no family plans for. And now, the weight of ongoing medical bills, living expenses, and future treatments is pressing down hard on all of us.

Logan is someone who has always been there for others. He has a natural way of making people laugh, of lifting others up when they’re down. He’s the guy who would give you his last dollar if it meant helping someone else. He’s known for his big heart, for always trying to make sure everyone around him feels seen, heard, and safe. He was just beginning to find his footing financially, hitting his goals and working hard to build a better future — until this tragedy brought everything to a halt.

As a family, it is very hard for us to ask for help. We are proud, and like many, we’ve always tried to handle things on our own.
