My name is Chrissy, and I am starting a fundraiser for my dog, Logan.

Logan means the world to me. Growing up, I was never allowed to have a dog, but I always knew that when I grew up, I would finally welcome one into my life. In February of 2015, I adopted Logan, a sweet retriever mix from a rescue group who found him in a shelter in Georgia. From the very beginning, Logan showed his loving nature—he walked right over to me and flopped over for belly rubs, and I loved him immediately. We started positive reinforcement puppy training classes together, and Logan was a superstar in class. When he was three, we returned to class to prepare for the therapy dog test, which we passed with flying colors. Logan was a therapy dog for seven years, bringing comfort and joy to so many people before I retired him at age ten. He loves people, dogs, and even cats, and he’s happiest when playing fetch, being petted, or just snuggling. On walks, people still ask me if he is a puppy, and they are always surprised to learn that he is eleven years old. Logan is also my emotional support dog, bringing me happiness and comfort every day. He’s been by my side through so much, and my life changed for the better the night I brought him home.

Earlier this year, two routine blood tests showed high liver enzymes, so my veterinarian and I decided to do an ultrasound, and unfortunately, they found a mass in his liver. If Logan were much older and in pain, I would do everything I could to keep him comfortable before he passed, but Logan still has so much life in him, and the thought of cancer cutting his life short is heartbreaking. Logan needs a CT scan, followed by surgery, if viable, or an alternative treatment if surgery is not viable. The CT scan alone will cost thousands, and if surgery is needed, it will cost more than ten thousand. There is a chance I could get funding from the hospital for his surgery, but that is dependent on the results of the CT scan and Logan's prognosis, and there is no hospital funding for the CT scan. My net income simply isn’t enough to cover these expenses, so I’m asking for help from anyone who loves dogs or has been touched by Logan’s story. Your support will give Logan a chance at a joyful, loving, and longer life, and it will mean the world to both of us.
