Help Lockne Afford Gender Affirming Surgery

Hello!
My name is Lockne Andreoni (she/her) and for the better part of a year I have been working tirelessly towards my upcoming bottom surgery. There are plenty of informative resources detailing the procedure that I shall happily link below. To me this surgery means shaping the body that had me feeling trapped since childhood into one I choose to live in. For the uninitiated I am a transgender woman and have been undergoing multiple methods of gender affirming care including Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), laser hair removal, voice feminization training among many other methods. Each step forward I have taken has only fulfilled my person tenfold. For the first time ever in my life I now see myself staring back in the mirror.

In my personal life I feel most myself when I'm up on a stage absolutely losing my mind being the biggest freak possible in an improv scene. I love exploring on my walks taking pictures of architecture that just makes my eyes zoom. I commit maybe too much time to rambling about the wonderful and woefully underappreciated world of hand drawn animation to my poor unsuspecting friends. My favorite is Princess Mononoke. I work as a barista and if you like latte art then I'm sorry I hope you like the Rorschach Test with your psychiatrist because blobs are my specialty. Most of all I love my close friends more than anything in existence. Their individual support through my transition has meant the world to me and has kept me grounded through my hardest struggles. I love being alive.

I will be undergoing my operation at Rush University Medical Center on October 3rd 2022. While I will not know the exact cost of surgery and after care until the procedure actually happens I am basing the goal off of both the general cost of vaginoplasty in Chicago coupled with necessary expenses I have while I am on leave from work for 6-8 weeks before I can return. I have already heard back from my insurance provider that they will not be covering surgery costs as many providers in the US consider this life saving operation as "cosmetic". Any amount will go leaps and bounds toward assisting me in my recovery. If you have any specific questions within my level of comfort/discretion about any part of the procedure or fundraising I will happily discuss that with anyone. I appreciate all of you immensely!
