I created this GoFundMe with the intention of helping a former coworker of mine who has fallen onto hard times. A year ago, she had to flee from her hometown due to a situation that involved the passing of her partner. She is a para-educator for the DJUSD, but due to the 10-month school year, she has been struggling to make ends meet during this summer. She had a second job, but they stopped being consistent with her hours, and she now has lost that job.

These unforeseen circumstances caused her to fall behind on bills, experience food insecurity, the possibility of losing water/power, and now she is potentially being evicted from her home. Moving to Davis and working in education has given her a community where she was finally able to feel safe. I have worked with her, and she is an excellent para, and it would be a shame if our Davis and DJUSD communities lost her energy, enthusiasm, and kindness.
