Hi friends,

I’m writing today on behalf of my dear friend Chris Lutterloah — a local musician, a fighter in recovery, and someone who’s been working incredibly hard to rebuild his life from the ground up.

Chris has struggled in the past with addiction, but over the last several months, he’s made enormous strides. He’s been sober, focused, and deeply committed to turning his life around. Anyone who knows him has seen the positive changes: he's been showing up, staying clean, creating music again, and doing the hard daily work of healing.

Recently, Chris was finally able to save and borrow enough money — about $2,300 — to purchase a used vehicle. This car was more than just transportation; it was a symbol of his progress, giving him access to steady work, meetings, gigs, and the stability he’s been building toward.

Late Tuesday night (July 29, 2025), after leaving work and while trying to get on the interstate to head home, Chris’s car broke down due to a bad alternator. With very limited funds left, we went to Pull-A-Part the following morning (July 30) and found a used alternator in order to get him back on the road.

But then the unthinkable happened.

When we returned, we found that his car had been vandalized and stripped. Thieves had stolen several major components — including the battery, intake manifold, catalytic converter — and smashed three of the windows. The damage is extensive and has rendered the vehicle completely inoperable.

This was a devastating setback.

Chris had already invested everything he had in that vehicle. He was trying so hard to move forward, and now he’s left without transportation, without savings, and facing yet another uphill battle.

We’re asking for your support to help Chris recover from this loss and get back on track. Funds raised will go toward:

* Replacing the vehicle or repairing it (if salvageable)

* Transportation-related costs (rides to work, recovery meetings, etc.)

* Helping him regain a sense of stability during this critical time in his recovery

Chris has come so far — he deserves a real shot at continuing that progress without being knocked back down by something so cruel and unexpected.

It is also worth noting that Chris has been humbly resistant to seeking support in this manner, as he is aware many people are struggling in these troubling economic times.
