Help local family after surviving tornado
Donation protected

On June 25th, 2023, Bill, Shay and Amelia Johnson’s lives took a drastic turn after surviving a tornado. While Bill was bailing hay, Shay and her daughter Amelia were in their home on their family’s ranch in Albin, Wyoming. They had no idea that the tornado was coming. When Bill finally saw the tornado coming, he ran to the barn to take shelter, not having enough time to get back to the house. Shay and Amelia had just enough time to run downstairs and take cover under a mattress. Shay said: I’ve never been so scared in my life it was so loud. We had a mattress covering our heads!
The 100 year old home had just been remodeled to make it livable for the newest generation to take over the family farm (LeMaster Farm). This home was where the generations before her, were born and raised.
Currently the home is uninhabitable. The crops were destroyed and outbuildings were also damaged. While her husband Bill runs the farm full-time, Shay is a registered nurse at a local surgical center and raises beef on the side with her father. They supply yearly, local raised beef and might be some of the sweetest people on this earth. They have been displaced and will need to find a place to live until their home can be fixed. Their furniture was ruined and their kitchen was destroyed. “I can’t even think right now of what we need”, Shay said.
Any donation will help this family get back on their feet.
