Hello! My name is Jessica and my sister in law, Christal McDermott has just found out that she has cancer. Her and her husband Scott McDermott own Elkins Frosty here in Wheatland.  I wanted to start a fundraiser for them in hopes that the community can come together and help them with there out of pocket medical expenses for Christal's treatment. She started chemo and radiation this Monday the 25th of January and has 9 weeks total of treatment. Luckily, her treatment time is short and her cancer is very treatable. They will also need to spend the last three of her treatments in San Jose where they will need to stay in a hotel a total of 6 days. They do have health insurance but it doesn't cover everything. There business is a little slow right now and Scott just recently lost his job because of covid. I have always known Christal and Scott to want to help others and have donated to plenty of sports and school teams in our little town. Hopefully we can come together and make this time a little bit easier on them. Thanks
