Help Local Artist Car Theft & Insurance Denial

Dear KCMO Community,

I am reaching out on behalf of my girlfriend, Maranda Orth otherwise known as GimmieMO, who is facing an extremely challenging situation. Last night, her car was stolen from her apartment parking lot. Shockingly, this isn’t the first time her vehicle has been targeted; in fact, it is the fourth break-in. However, this time the perpetrators went further and took the the entire car. Maranda has already invested a substantial amount of funds, amounting to hundreds of dollars, in repairing windows and the ignition from the previous break-ins. Now, with the car stolen, it’s a devastating loss.

What exacerbates this already difficult situation is that Maranda’s comprehensive insurance with Progressive, (her auto insurance provider), has been denied, meaning there will be no payout of help from insurance AT ALL. Their decision was based on the high incidence of theft for Kia and Hyundai vehicles, leaving Maranda without any financial assistance or payout. This denial has created a significant setback, leaving her in an even more challenging position, than others with other types of vehicles.

Maranda/GimmieMO is a dedicated full-time artist in our local KCMO community. Her car is not only her means of transportation but also an essential tool for her to commute and work on her artistic projects and shows she has lined up. At present, we are unable to afford a new vehicle, and it will take considerable time to gather the necessary funds.

Any support, regardless of the amount, would be incredibly appreciated. Your donations will directly assist Maranda in getting back on her feet. Your kindness and generosity during this difficult time will make a significant difference in helping Maranda regain her mobility and continue pursuing her passion as an artist.
