Help Lobo Overcome Cancer and Walk Again
Donation protected
I'm a disabled veteran and retired animal warden. Years ago, I was injured on the job (I got hit by a truck). This left me unable to walk for a while, and I used a cane for several years after that. A friend of mine gave me Lobo as a puppy 10 years ago to help motivate me with my rehabilitation for my back and leg injury. Lobo's companionship over the years motivated me daily to walk and exercise through all the pain I was experiencing. He helped me get to the point where I no longer needed a cane to walk and has been the best K9 friend a guy could ask for.
Now Lobo needs my help. A few weeks ago, he all of a sudden went lame and was unable to walk... his back legs no longer worked. We rushed him to the vet, and they originally diagnosed him with Lyme disease. After a week of treating him with antibiotics for that, his leg swelled up massively. We rushed him to the vet again, and they diagnosed him with cancer. We were referred to a specialist, and we had an ultrasound done... that ultrasound confirmed he has a tumor in his abdomen that needs to be removed. He also has an infection in his hip related to the tumor that needs to be dealt with. We have already spent around $3,000 and are looking at another $10k - $12k or more for the CT scan and surgery he needs.
Lobo was there for me over the years when I needed his support while recovering from my work-related injuries. Please help me be there for Lobo now during his time of need.
