hello everyone!
My name is Logan (Lo) Gomez. I'm a 25 year old artist, tattoo apprentice, and queer person from colorado springs, CO. I have dedicated a lot of my time to building a safe space for queer/latinx/bipoc people to get tattooed and feel seen in our conservative military town. I've known i was different from other AFAB people ever since i was a kid. Ive never felt at home in my body or in my skin, and it wasn't until i was an adult that i realized im non binary. I've made this gofundme for those who cannot get tattooed due to out of state reasons, or those who just want to donate to help out. After years and years of extensive research, experimenting with new clothes and styles, and feeling like a prisoner in my own skin; i've finally been fortunate enough to get top surgery.
This is a LIFE SAVING/CHANGING operation for me. There is nothing i've ever been more sure about in my life. When i see myself 5, 10 or 15 years down the road, i've always seen myself with a flat chest. I picture myself in the beach feeling the waves touch my bare chest and the sun beam down on me. I see myself wearing tiny little tops with no fear of my chest being exposed. I see myself being absolutely free and comfortable for the first time ever in my life. Top surgery is the most important thing i've ever been presented, but it doesn't come without some challenges too. I am asking for 4k in fundraisers to help me with my recovery! All money will go towards my surgery, rent, and food while i'm out of work.
A brief breakdown of expenses:
-$750 surgery deductible for my insurance
-$2500 for rent and other house hold necessities while i'm out
-$750 for food and drinks for both me and my cat
-any money exceed from the 4k will be donated to Inside Out Youth Services, an LGBTQIA organization (based in Colorado Springs) building access, community and care to young LGBT people aged 13-24.
The recovery time for top surgery is anywhere from 2-6 weeks, being able to go back to work as i see fit. I am aiming for a 4 week recovery, but being that it's 4 weeks i will miss an entire months worth of paychecks. I am supposed to be moving at the end of September as well, so the money will also go to helping me secure a deposit on a place while i recover.
