My name is Jen and my sister, Lizeth has been battling stage 5 chronic kidney disease for 4 years now. She was misdiagnosed as a child with asthma and up until 2022 was believed to suffer from that only for us to find out she was actually suffering from stage 4 CKD which was entirely too late.
Roughly, a year and a half ago Liz was able to undergo surgery for a kidney transplant and for a few months, her body was not rejecting the organ however in the past four months, her body and health has been declining.
Liz is a single mother and financially, it has always been difficult for her given she provides not only for her son but also for herself. Treatment and medication for her CKD recovery is very expensive and her insurance was cut due to not being able to pay, in turn her health has worsened very rapidly. Without her medication, she constantly battles with physical pain which makes it hard for her to do simple tasks like eating, getting dressed and moving around.
Along with medical expenses, things like buying groceries for the week and paying for rent has been very financially and emotionally overwhelming. We’ve been doing our best to manage however we’re reaching a point where we’ve lost hope for recovery.
Please share this, anything is greatly appreciated. Any help whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a kind message, means the world to us. Thank you, truly.
