Liza has been a light in many of our lives over the years. Now our charismatic friend needs our help as she enters her second fight with breast cancer. This time she has HER2-positive breast cancer.

HER2 is an aggressive cancer but has an equally aggressive targeted chemo that can conquer it.

During her chemotherapy, she will receive Perjeta (Pertuzumab) and win this battle.

Sadly, this is an expensive drug that will cost up to $20,000 (this is what the pharmaceutical companies charge claiming that it is at a 60% discount) and is not covered by OHIP.

Liza is self-employed and will be forced to scale back her business as she undergoes intensive chemo further increasing the financial burden of this expensive treatment.

Breast Cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in Canadian women. We need to put pressure on the government to cover Perjeta (Pertuzumab). It is effective and has a proven success rate. The fact that some women will be denied it because of cost is not acceptable.
