Help Liz Rebuild Bear Minimum After Water Damage
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters + Eco Warriors,
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the unwavering love and support you have shown Bear Minimum—and me personally—over the past three years. Every conversation, every purchase, every event attended, every social media share, and every smile exchanged has meant the world to me. You are the heart of this business, and I am truly thankful.
Unfortunately, Bear Minimum is currently at a standstill due to a major plumbing failure. A malfunction caused the system to overfill, leading to significant water damage both in the retail space and in The Bear’s Den, where I host monthly events. Cleanup and remediation are underway, and while I have an active insurance claim, as we all know, these processes take time. In the meantime, the financial obligations of running a business don’t stop.
This event has also made it clear that my time at 618 Main Street is likely coming to an end. While I have loved being part of this space, ongoing issues—including multiple water leaks, significant inventory losses due to rodent damage (uncovered by insurance), and other costly repairs—have made it unsustainable. It’s time to find a new home for Bear Minimum, one that allows me to grow rather than just survive.
Over the coming months, I will be transitioning out of this location. In the interim, I’ll continue to bring Bear Minimum to you—popping up at local farmers’ markets and partnering with incredible small businesses throughout the area. My goal is to find the right space without feeling rushed, ensuring that Bear Minimum’s next chapter is one of strength and sustainability.
As difficult as it is to ask for help, I know I cannot do this alone. I am reaching out to my community to help ease the financial strain of this transition. Your support will allow me to cover unexpected expenses, move into a new location, and continue serving this incredible community without interruption.
Your generosity—whether through donations, sharing this fundraiser, or simply continuing to support Bear Minimum in any way—means everything. Thank you for believing in this mission and for helping me continue to provide a space where sustainable living thrives and inspires.
With love, gratitude, and determination,
Liz
