Liz has spent years caring for others as a nurse, through dog rescue, and as the kind of person friends could always count on. Now Liz is the one who needs her community to show up. On July 8, while caring for a rescue dog, Liz was brutally attacked and suffered devastating injuries to both arms and hands. Liz lost three units of blood, required emergency surgery, and came frighteningly close to losing a left arm. The road ahead is overwhelming, with a long and intensive rehabilitation and a recovery that doctors expect will keep Liz out of work for at least a year. Right now, Liz also needs help with basic daily tasks like getting dressed, preparing food, washing hands, and managing everyday care.
