Dear friends and family,
I am writing to you today to ask for your help in supporting my sister Liz, who is currently battling a rare form of cancer called a sarcoma. She has an even more rare type of sarcoma, known as a Desmoid Tumour. This affects only 3 people per million in Australia. Unlike other cancers, this is not malignant, however it continues to grow and puts pressure on other organs. In Liz's case, the tumour is in her chest wall and the trachea has been compressed and oesophagus displaced, causing breathing difficulties and discomfort swallowing food. Due to its size and location, it is unfortunately inoperable at this stage.
Liz is a caring wife to her husband Terry and a loving mother to her son Harvey, she is determined to fight this disease with everything she has but is unfortunately struggling to keep up with the medical bills and other expenses associated with her condition and her inability to continue her usual employment.
That's why we have set up this page to raise funds to help with Liz’s current situation. Every little bit helps, and we would be so grateful for any support you can offer.
Liz is a fighter, She has undergone three cycles of chemotherapy with no success, but is now taking a medication that has shown positive results in clinical trials in the US and Europe, though it is not currently available in Australia. She is determined to beat this cancer and get back to living her life to the fullest. With your help, we can make that a reality.
Please consider making a donation to her page, and please share it with your friends and family. Together, we can help Liz beat this cancer and show her that she is not alone in this fight.
Thank you for your support and love during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Luke Overs
