Greetings Family, Friends, and Caring People ~ My 66-year-old sister, Liz, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer two weeks ago -- a terminal diagnosis. This diagnosis came as a complete surprise to Liz, her three adult children, family, and friends. We are all devastated.

I am starting this GoFundMe page to give people who want to support Liz and her children an opportunity to do so. All three of Liz's children work and live far away from Minneapolis (Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO). They are determined to have at least one of them with Liz, providing care and support, during her cancer journey. The travel and per diem expenses for this care will be considerable.

Another tragic fact is that Liz's diagnosis came during the Medicare Open Enrollment period, which delays her access to Medicare Part B (Outpatient Services including chemotherapy) until February 2026. We are leaving no stone unturned in researching and applying for other medical insurance assistance, but we anticipate there will be some medical bills associated with her care.

Liz, Liz's children, and I are deeply grateful for all donations. This page will be linked to Liz's CaringBridge page, where you can get updates on Liz's journey. Currently, the beneficiary will be listed as Jake Friedenfeld, as Jake will be managing the donations on behalf of Liz.
