Help Liz Get Top Surgery
Donation protected
Hi all,
My name is Liz James and I am a 25 year old nonbinary person. I have had boobs since I was ten years old, and they have always been far above average size. As a kid and a teen, people told me I would grow to like them, but unfortunately that never happened. I have decided that it is finally time for me to do something about it.
I plan to get top surgery this fall (if the pandemic does not cause a cancellation), and do not know if I will be employed or if I will have health insurance, as my current job ends in August. Out-of-pocket costs are a little over $10,000. I know this is a large sum, and will be saving diligently to meet what I can of it on my own. In addition to this cost, I will need to travel to the surgeon (whom I have selected because of his experience working with nonbinary patients), and potential COVID testing and any other unexpected medical fees. I have waited to get this surgery for many years, but I don't want to wait any longer. As I age, my skin will become less elastic, and scars will be more noticeable and less likely to fade. I want to get this done while I am still relatively young.
This surgery will not only help me to achieve a more accurate gender presentation, but will also help to alleviate back pain and improve my posture. I will be able to exercise more freely, and will feel more comfortable in my clothing. There are many more reasons for me to do this, but those are a small sample.
Thank you for reading. Asking for help is very difficult to do, but please know that any donations of any amount will mean the world to me.
Much love,
Liz
Cost Breakdown:
Surgery: $7200
Anesthesia Fee: $1050
Facility Fee: $2000
Inventory Fee: $150
Flights for me and my partner: ~$600
Weeklong hotel stay: ~$800
This comes out to a little over ten thousand, but I am hoping to pay for the flights and hotel on my own.
