Hi, my name is Elizabeth mainly known as Liz. I am 37 years old. On November 9th I was having some chest pain and thought I was having a heart attack. I went to the emergency room where I was first diagnosed with a blood clot in my lung. I was placed on blood thinners immediately and admitted into the hospital. They ran lots of tests including an Echo test. Well I knew there was bad news when the Dr came in and said that a cardiologist would be coming to talk to me. Well the cardiologist had the bad news that one of my heart valves was leaking and not functioning properly. He then said id be transported to a better heart hospital. He proceeded to tell me once there id meet with a heart surgeon. Well I got to the next hospital and was met by a heart surgeon. He told me that id need an open heart surgery to repair the valve. It was replaced with a mechanical heart valve. So on November 14th I had an open heart surgery. I was told I cant work for 2 months. I usually pay half the bills in my home while my significant other pays the rest. I have 4 children ranging in ages from 14 to 20. I am not one to ask for help and this is very hard for me to do. With Christmas coming up and also my daughter's birthday its beginning to hit me that the financial strain on my significant other is a lot to handle.
