We are raising funds to go to our dear friends, Liz and Christian. They have written a brief of their situation and our fundraising goals. We thank everyone for taking the time to hear their story and help us reach their goal.

Dear Community,

My name is Liz Nuñez, and together with my husband, Christian Pérez, we find ourselves in a situation that demands courage, hope, and the support of those who can understand our pain and our daily struggle.

My husband lives with Crohn’s disease, a chronic and debilitating condition that affects his digestive system. This illness requires very specific treatment, both in terms of diet and medication. However, living in our country has presented us with enormous challenges. Not only is it extremely difficult to obtain the foods necessary for his diet, but the essential medication he needs—azathioprine—has been unavailable in national pharmacies for more than two years.

In addition, our livelihood depends on a tattoo studio. In order to continue our work, we need specialized materials that simply cannot be obtained here. The few resources we manage to acquire are very limited, making everything even more difficult. Our country's economic situation has made nearly everything we need to improve our lives almost unattainable.

We are seeking an opportunity to change our lives—to give my husband a better quality of life, where he can access proper medical treatment, adequate nutrition, and an environment that does not put his health at risk. Brazil offers us that opportunity. There, we can receive appropriate medical care, access the foods my husband needs, and find better conditions to continue our work—work that has brought us so much happiness and fulfillment.

For all these reasons, today we turn to you, appealing to your generosity and solidarity, to ask for your help. We need to raise funds to travel to Brazil, where my husband can access the medical and nutritional resources he so desperately needs, and where we can continue working in our tattoo studio with the hope of improving our economic situation.

We know it is not easy to ask for help, but today we do so with our hearts in our hands, certain that there are people in the world willing to offer a helping hand. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goal. With your support, we can continue fighting for a better future—a life where my husband can live without the constant fear that his health will deteriorate further, and where we can keep working and creating, as we have always dreamed.
