Hello everyone,
My name is Liyah Niles, and I’m reaching out to my friends, family, and community for support with urgent housing and legal expenses. As of May 15, 2025, I was served a 30-day notice to vacate my current residence by the father of my child, with whom I currently live. This means I now have until June 14, 2025, to find a new place to live.
I became a stay-at-home mom in November 2023 during my pregnancy. I returned to work in February 2025 as the situation at home became unstable and I could no longer rely on full support. Now, I’m facing the threat of homelessness and the emotional toll of potentially being separated from my child. It’s been a constant struggle to reach a co-parenting agreement that supports the well-being of our son.
I recently requested to extend my stay until August 1, 2025, to allow more time for a smooth transition, but that request was denied. I was told that this timeline was too long to remain in the home.
I’m asking for your help to raise funds that will go toward transportation to return to my family in Florida, legal fees to support my custody case, and securing affordable housing while I get back on my feet. My goal is not to exclude my son’s father, but to create a stable and secure environment for our child — one that allows both parents to contribute meaningfully and safely.
I am a young, hardworking, and dedicated mother striving to provide a safe and loving home for my child. This past year has brought challenge after challenge, but I’m determined to keep moving forward. Without any family nearby in the DMV area, I’m facing this situation largely on my own.
Any and all support is deeply appreciated — whether it’s a donation, a share, or a kind word. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me during this time. Your help means more than you know.
With love and gratitude, Liyah Niles
