Liv lost her sight at just 11 years old. She was born with Stickler Syndrome, a rare condition that attacked her eyes and caused her retinas to detach. Over the past seven years, Liv has endured 18 eye surgeries, and at 18, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia on top of her other medical issues. Despite these challenges, Liv is preparing to attend Bowling Green State University this fall, determined to pursue her dream of becoming an Intervention Specialist and helping other students who face obstacles like she has.

To give Liv the best chance at success in college and beyond, she needs a service dog. With the help of expert trainers at Coastal Service Dogs, Liv's dog will be trained to help her navigate campus, alert her to dangers such as obstacles, oncoming traffic, and fall hazards, and assist with stability needs due to weakness and fatigue from fibromyalgia. He will also retrieve objects that are dropped or out of reach and offer pressure therapy to help with both fibromyalgia and anxiety. Most importantly, Liv's service dog will give her independence she might not otherwise have, allowing her to manage daily life and college with greater confidence.

While there are many programs that will donate a trained service dog, they are unable to help Liv at this time, and waiting for eligibility could mean a delay of one to three years. Liv needs funds to help pay for a specially bred service dog, training, and transportation to get the puppy home. While it is expensive, having the dog before graduation will allow Liv to start college with her companion by her side. Liv has never given up, and your support will give her the best chance to graduate and spend her life inspiring others to never give up on their dreams.
