Help Liv get her Pineal Cyst brain surgery
Donation protected
We are reaching out to you on behalf of Liv and her family in the hope of urgently raising funds to cover an essential surgery to remove a Pineal Cyst in Liv's brain.
Liv has a complex health history and has struggled with a huge host of symptoms, worsening over the past few years. She has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, gastroparesis, chronic vestibular issues and migraines. In 2020, it was discovered that Liv has a Pineal Cyst in her brain.
Day-to-day life is a challenge for Liv. Her combined conditions cause daily chronic, severe headaches, dizziness and vertigo, balance issues, fatigue, tinnitus, visual flipping, and sensitivity to light and sound. She is unable to work or study and has been isolated from daily life because of her symptoms.
This year Liv met with Dr Teo, a world renowned neurosurgeon who advised undergoing a surgery to remove the cyst from her brain, suspecting that it's the cause of her symptoms. The position of her Pineal Cyst is particularly concerning, causing stenosis, which is the compression of an artery in the brain.
Unfortunately, the surgery is not viable in the UK as it is not routinely funded under the NHS. This presents a major challenge for Liv, as her quality of life continues to deteriorate. We are, therefore, asking for your help to cover the surgery in Madrid with Dr Teo. Without the opportunity to remove the cyst, it is expected that Liv's condition will continue to deteriorate.
All funds will cover:
-Cost of the surgery by Dr Teo
-Associated medical costs
-Travel costs
-Accomodation & essential expenses
Patients that undergo Pineal Cyst removal have their life transformed, often achieving remission from many of their debilitating symptoms. It is our hope that Liv will have the opportunity to in her words "get her life and some normality back".
