THE FUNDS

Unfortunately, I currently live in a red state where care is hard to find. I'll be traveling out of state to get the treatment I need. All the funds raised will go towards the surgery cost, travel costs, and housing during recovery.

MY GENDER JOURNEY

Growing up, as soon as I developed breasts I had said I would want a reduction some day. I didn't like the attention it gave me and I didn't like the way my clothes fit with them there. Upon learning about gender nonconformity and adopting they/them, pronouns, it was clear to me that my discomfort with my chest was tied to the way I felt about my gender. I began wearing binders around 2019, before I came out as nonbinary. Even with the binder on, my chest is still visible. Despite the pain I feel from binding for several hours a day, I don't go out without it on. When my brother got engaged, I knew I needed to feel like myself at his wedding, able to move and enjoy the day without any restriction from a binder. I don't want to look back at photos on his special day and my immediate thought being how I wish my chest was smaller. I want to go out in public braless. I want to feel comfortable in a swimsuit. I want to stop thinking about how my body looks any time I leave my house.
