Help little Vjera walk on her own
Donation protected
Meet Vjera - a six year-old girl with Cerebral Palsy. Born three months premature and weighing only 800 grams, Vjera had to undergo four surgeries in her first year of life. With therapy (physical, occupational and speech), Vjera has made great progress. However, she is still behind in her development and unable to walk without assistance.
Vjera has a strong desire to walk independently and to be able to play with other children. Despite her circumstances, Vjera is always happy, positive, and undergoes therapy without complaint. With the support of medical staff, her parents and grandparents, she repeats exercises tirelessly, all in a pursuit of her dream of walking on her own soon.

The neurorehabilitation treatment that Vjera has been undergoing is not available in Montenegro where she lives. Her family has had to cover the treatment abroad at their own expense with no support from health insurance.
Vjera is making progress, and her parents, Jovana and Milos, are doing everything they can to continue, but years of medical expenses have exhausted their resources, and they are unable to fund the treatment.
With your help, Vjera can continue with treatment and make her first unassisted steps!
How your donation will help:
- $21,300 will provide 12 weeks of Neurorehabilitation treatment at the center for neuro-rehabilitation robotics at the Polyclinic Glavic. This treatment will improve Vjera’s fine motor skills, coordination of movements and balance.
- $3,800 will provide speech therapy and occupational therapy twice per week for a period of one year.
