As many of you know, we were thrilled to bring home a new puppy last week after many months of searching.
Unfortunately, our dream of becoming dog dads quickly turned into a nightmare when our boy Theo was diagnosed with Parvo virus after just a few days with us. (The vet is pretty convinced he contracted the virus before we got him). Thanks to the swift action of our good friends/godparents who rushed him to the emergency vet at the first sign of distress, he began aggressive treatment to fight the infection.
While Theo's prognosis is optimistic, he's not out of the woods, and it's been a rough ride for the little guy. He's required an extended stay
in the animal hospital to maintain his treatment, which comes at a significant financial cost.
Despite saving up for the inevitable vet bills, we did not expect to be dealing with such an expensive emergency within the first week of puppy parenthood. After several agonizing days of treatment, we're running up against the financial burden required to cover the additional 3-5 days the vet estimates he will need in the hospital to complete his care.
As much as it pains us, we're humbly asking family and friends to contribute (if you're willing and able) to Theo's recovery fund. We can't imagine giving up on this sweet puppy at this point, and we're hoping that your generosity will help him turn the corner on this terrible virus.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and we will be forever grateful for whatever you can give. And Theo will certainly give you lots of kisses when you meet him (after he's had all his shots).
With love and gratitude,
Demetrios & Levi
