Help little Robin beat Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected

Please go to BeTheMatch.org to join the Bone Marrow Registery, you could be a potential match and help save a life like Robins.

Robin was diagnosed the other day with Aplastic Anemia - an autoimmune disease that destroys her bone marrow.

They had never heard of it until it turned their entire world upside down.

They brought her to urgent care due to a fever that didn't respond to ibuprofen. And when they showed the doctor the random bruises she would get on her legs, he was immediately alarmed. Blood tests showed that her white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets were all critically low, and they were told to rush her to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles where they gave her a blood transfusion that night.

A bone marrow biopsy confirmed that it was in fact Aplastic Anemia, a one in a million disease.

Tuesday, her unspeakably brave, hero of a big sister will undergo a blood test to see if she is a perfect bone marrow match. A transplant from her, if they are a match, would essentially be a cure for Robin. But regardless of the result of this test, Jordan already knows just how huge her part is in helping her little sister and best friend.

If a transplant from Jordan is not an option, they will move on to find a match from the registry, or we would consider immunosuppressive therapy that will basically put her entire immune system on pause to allow her bone marrow to recuperate over time.

I want to ask anyone who is willing, to please get tested to see if you match with Robin. Regardless of what their plan of attack is, one thing we do know is that the journey will be long and difficult.

Please keep Robin in your thoughts and prayers, spread awareness of this little known but extremely serious disease, and thank you in advance to those who help.

For those ready to register as a Bone Marrow Donor, please go to BeTheMatch.org

They will send you a swab kit for you to complete and mail back, effectively adding you to the donor registry. Once they search on Robin's behalf, and you happen to be a match, you will be flagged and notified.

Again, we are humbled by all of you guardian angels out there fighting for Robin. Regardless of whether or not you match her bone marrow, it's obvious to see that you already match her heart and spirit. Thank you all so much...
