Hi everyone, Dani and Rob here ❤️
On the 21 of September 2021 I was sitting outside in the yard that I work at and I watched a frightened kitten launch itself off and down a 30 foot dry dock wall onto concrete. My heart dropped, there was no way something so little and fragile would survive something like that, I ran down to see if she was okay and found her laying still, alive and in shock. I scooped her up and ran her inside, tried to find vets that were open but couldn’t so I kept her over night. First thing in the morning I took her to an incredible veterinary hospital, Atlas animal hospital in Savannah and they took her in right away and walked me through what’s best for her and guided me with what I could personally afford at that time.
her right leg was clearly injured and didn’t know if she had any internal bleeding or severe internal injuries.
The X-rays showed that her right femur is broken. They performed an ultrasound(for free) to see if her bladder was still in tack after the impact and thankfully it is ❤️ we are monitoring her with the help of Koda (the most amazing and caring dog)
The costs are huge to try and save her leg and get it back to working order and myself and dani can’t afford it all. There is a hopeful surgery given she puts on enough weight as she is only 1.4 pounds and that would be to put some pins in her. Here is a breakdown of the options for her femur fracture include: referral for surgical repair (best done within 7 days at a specialty center), amputation for pain relief if surgery is not an option, or crate rest for 4-6weeks to see what the limb does (some patients will develop wounds or be unable to use the leg as it will likely be shorter than her other hindlimb) obviously I would want what is best for her and the pins would roughly be in the $3000 range and that all depends what is found. The pins would be the most expensive and best way for her to hopefully regain all her mobility back.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this and if you support it would be absolutely incredible and Dani and I would forever be grateful if we both had the means to go ahead and get her all fixed, it would be happening right now.
The money raised would cover all costs involved with either surgery that is best for her as well as aftercare.
we are hoping for the most positive outcome
if you ever need an amazing hospital for your pet in the Savannah area I highly recommend Atlas Animal Hospital, They had seen her right away and discounted and added the ultrasound for free, We couldn’t be more grateful and hoping the little one gets the best care we can possibly provide ❤️
We will update this as we go along, thank you all for your support and love ❤️
