Help little Luka save his eye

Hello,

I’m Luka. I just turned one and am loving everything about life. My mom and sisters love me almost as much as I love them.

I had an accident though. I hurt my eye really badly. Mom says it’s gross, but that I’m still the cutest. She also said I’d make a cute pirate, but the thought of that makes her cry.

I have to wear a not very comfy collar all the time. For 2 months already!! Which makes it very difficult to fetch. Fetching my toys when my mom throws them is my FAVORITE thing to do.

I have a corneal ulcer that keeps getting worse. I have been to a Feline Opthamologist many times. I do not like him. I’m not sure why mom does, because he lives 2 hours away and he makes my eye hurt more. I still give him snuggles though, because I’m a sweet boy, and mom said he’s helping.

I had surgery, but it didn’t really help too much. The doctor said the ulcer is melting and I guess that’s very bad.

Mom doesn’t want to give up trying to stop me from becoming a pirate. (Not sure why, I hear they are kinda cool.) She’s running out of money though. My human sister is sick too, she goes to the doctor more than I do!

So far, my mom has paid $750 in office visits. $350 for surgery, $500 in labs, and $350 in meds. We go back again next week to find out the results of the tests. Another surgery might be in my future. Blah!

My mom needs help, and I want out of this stupid collar! Thank you for reading my story!!
