Hello, my name is Iva, and I am the mother of my brave little boy, Luka.

He just turned two years old — but instead of celebrating his birthday at home, we faced every parent’s worst nightmare.

On the very day of his second birthday, Luka had to be urgently transported from North Macedonia to Bologna, Italy, for brain surgery. The medical transport alone cost €7,500, but I did everything I could to get him to safety and the best possible care.

The doctors successfully removed the tumor, but the biopsy brought heartbreaking news — it is malignant, a rare and aggressive brain cancer called ependymoma, which affects the central nervous system.

Now Luka faces a long and difficult journey ahead. He must begin radiotherapy, followed by months of rehabilitation and therapy to help him recover both physically and emotionally.

As a single mother, I am doing everything in my power to stay strong for him, but the medical, accommodation, and daily expenses are far beyond what I can manage alone.
