Help Little Luca and Family

Hello,

My name is Danielle. I am a close friend of Jessica Stanczak and Nick Renze, and a proud Funtie (fun Auntie) of Little Luca. I am writing this from the PICU of Royal Oak Beaumont.

This past Friday morning, Jessica held Luca as he slept in her arms after a feeding. Shortly after, she discovered he was unresponsive. She performed CPR and called 911 immediately. He was rushed to Troy Beaumont. After roughly 30 minutes of CPR, they were able to get his pulse back. Nick accompanied him as he was airlifted to Royal Oak. Unfortunately, his brain went too long without oxygen, and the damage is irreversible. Luca is undergoing endless tests in the PICU as we try to understand the event that occurred.

Jessica was expecting to return to work from maternity leave this week, but that will no longer be happening. Jessica and Nick both work so hard to provide for their family. Medical bills will continue to stack up as they both miss work to be by his side.
