HELP "Little Levi" Krystosek get a TRACK CHAIR!

Tax deductible
At 8 days old, they told us Levi wasn't going to make it. "They" were wrong.

Levi Krystosek is small in stature but lives a big life. Born with an ultra-rare form of debilitating degenerative dwarfism, Jansen’s Metaphyseal Chondrodysplasia. He is one of 28 cases in the world. At 8 days old, the doctors told us, “He’s not going to make it.” Levi has been defying the limits set by others his entire life. His fight, grit, and determination has got him through many difficult surgeries, medical treatments and learning to walk again, 3 different times. Levi can walk but distances are hard and unstable terrain is extremely challenging with his unsteady gait. At 12 years old, Levi willingly agreed to help medical research find a cure for his condition. He was the first patient with JMC to ever be admitted to the NIH (National Institute of Health) to move the needle forward to find a cure. Later this year, a drug trial is in the works because of his selflessness. Levi is a big patriot, collects military patches, and has the upmost admiration and respect for those who serve our country. Levi’s condition affects every bone in his body, but it does not affect his mind. He is sharp and willing to learn. Levi is a virtual high-school student and spends his free time in the woods, hunting, fishing, and camping. He shares his journey on social media platforms; inspiring others to GO LIVE LIFE!

We have always been told what Levi CAN NOT do. When Levi attended his first Super Hunt his world changed. His life had been full of painful surgeries, physical therapy, and doctor appointments. After that initial Super Hunt Levi had something to be excited about. Levi found something he could do. That first hunt opened a world Levi did not know about, it opened the great outdoors for him. Most kids count down to Christmas, Levi would count down until the Super Hunt. He and his father ended up joining a hunting club after that. They go as often as they can. Levi takes great pride in stocking our freezer with deer meat. Just recently, Levi was able to attend the SOL squirrel hunt and was given a track chair to use for the hunt. His exact words, “That was the most exciting hunt I have ever been on.” He could get around and keep up, because of the track chair. Levi lights up talking about his hunting journey. Levi is also a great fisherman. He has a dream of catching fish in all 50 states. I could see him completing that one day.

If awarded a track chair, it will ensure Levi many more years in the great outdoors: hunting and fishing. Using a track chair will provide safety from not falling on unstable terrain and give him the independence of getting around on his own. It would be life-changing for him.

BTW Levi enjoys hunting and fishing, but he also enjoys the fellowship that comes with them.

EXCITING NEWS:
Southern Outdoors Unlimited is going to help Levi get into a track chair! We have to raise at least $4,000. Any proceeds above the $4000, will go to help SOU provide more chairs to kids that want the freedom and access to the outdoors like Levi. We all can’t wait to see him making tracks in the woods as he is sneaking up on a turkey, deer, or heading to the nearest pond to fish in.
