Help Little Isla Sue Heal
Donation protected
Our beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Isla Sue Hahn, was supposed to travel with us to O'ahu for a much-needed, out-of-pocket surgery. But before we could even begin that journey, our world turned upside down.
Soon after we arrived, Isla suddenly became gravely ill. We had to rush her to the ER at Kapi'olani Children's Hospital. Her fever spiked over 104°F, her eyes rolled back, and her tiny body went limp — a parent's worst nightmare.
Despite emergency care, her condition worsened. The next day, new and frightening symptoms appeared. Then we learned the devastating news: all three of us - Isla, Mom, and Dad - had been exposed to both COVID and Influenza A.
For days, Isla's fever raged between 102-105°F. She would show brief signs of improvement, only to crash again. Watching our sweet, gentle, well-mannered little girl fight for stability was heartbreaking beyond words.
To make matters worse, we discovered that Isla's treatment was not covered by insurance, leaving us fully responsible for the mounting hospital bills. On top of that, being far from home has meant extremely high hotel and food costs in Waikiki, as well as lost wages from being unable to work.
We are hardworking parents who simply want our daughter to be healthy again. She is finally showing signs of improvement, and her spirit is starting to return — but this journey has left us emotionally, mentally, and financially exhausted.
We humbly ask for your prayers above all else. If you are able to donate, please know that every dollar will go directly toward Isla's medical care, recovery costs, and basic living expenses while we remain in O'ahu.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, caring, and helping us give our little girl the full, healthy life she deserves.
