When the unimaginable happens to your child and the world turns dark, the support of those that rally around is what reminds us that there is still light, even if it’s not shining where we needed it to, it will always shine long enough to get you/them through the day. Our darling Harvey’s world has been turned upside down with the sudden diagnosis of a medulloblastoma (malignant brain tumour). Harvey had surgery 27/05/2021 to remove the tumour, it was pressing firmly against his brain stem and unfortunately at this stage is no longer able to walk or talk. The early stages of this battle have not been a straight forward and has again undergone surgery 04/06/2021 to place a permanent shunt in his head which will help with keeping fluid build up on his brain at bay. This is Harvey 3.5 years old with his beautiful parents Carly and Mike along with his baby brother Teddy. They live 2 hours away from treatment and will need to relocate to Perth. Harvey will undergo a gruelling 9 month treatment plan along with rehabilitation to learn to walk and talk again, he is required to stay at Perth Children’s Hospital for this duration. Carly, Mike, Teddy and Harvey have received so much love and support but as you can imagine for Carly and Mike the support they are providing for Harvey is full time. Please help us keep this full time support possible by donating. Help us reduce the burden and worry of everyday life outside of their recovery journey. UPDATE 17/07/2021: A huge heart felt thank you to everyone that has supported Harvey and his family through this tough journey. As each day passes a new reason to smile is made possible by those beautiful milestones he is making. Although chemo hasn’t been smooth sailing, amongst it all Harvey has learnt to smile again. I’m not sure a smile has ever meant so much before. He is well into his rehab learning to walk and talk again, it has ignited a new flame of strength within to get on the move. Harvey loves to be on his trike with help from mum and dad and loves to go on little adventures around the ward ❤️ Round 2 of chemo started yesterday and we will be sure to keep you updated.
