Sweet 19 month old Harper June Peace — lovingly known as Harpie or Bug — was recently diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer. After noticing a drift in Harper’s eye, her parents, Tyler and Kaylan Peace, took her to see a specialist. Following an MRI, doctors discovered a tumor in her left eye.
Thankfully, the cancer appears to be contained within the eye and has not spread. Harper’s care has now been transferred to the Cleveland Clinic, where she’s meeting with pediatric oncology and eye specialists to determine the best treatment plan. The coming days will include sedated exams, possible laser or cryotherapy procedures, and — depending on the tumor’s size — the difficult possibility of eye removal or intraocular chemotherapy.
As you can imagine, this unexpected diagnosis has turned their world upside down. Between travel, hotel stays, meals away from home, and medical expenses, the costs are already adding up quickly and I know people are just looking for ways to love on them and help.
Tyler and Kaylan are devoted parents doing everything they can to stay strong for Harper and her big sister, Scottie. They are trusting God for healing and courage as they navigate each new step of this journey.
If you feel led, please consider donating to help ease the financial burden of treatment, travel, and time away from work — and most of all, please keep this precious family in your prayers.
Harper is strong, witty, and full of joy. She loves to laugh, play with her sister, and snuggle her dog, Teak. We believe she will overcome.
Thank you for surrounding the Peace family with love, prayer, and support.
