Help little Evie beat cancer ! #EVIESTRONG

Hello Everyone,
Laurie Kelsey here, I’m the GM & Co-Owner of everyone’s beloved Kelsey Winery. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to turn away from those St. Jude Commercials, as I would find myself bawling my eyes out, wondering how in the world those parents kept up such a strong front in the face of their little child having cancer. Unfortunately, I am now about to find out just how strong someone can be.
Over the weekend, my little 2 1/2 year old niece Evelyn (Evie) was still dealing with some cold issues and not getting better. Her doctor decided to do some lab work and her labs came back critically anemic. She was sent an hour away to Westchester Children’s Hospital where she was promptly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Needless to say, our Family is devastated. This poor little thing has already been started on chemotherapy. They did their first procedure, along with a bone marrow biopsy Saturday where chemo was injected into spinal fluid, during a spinal tap. She has already endured two blood transfusions and will be receiving another one today as apparently, she doesn’t "have enough" of what it takes to fight this disease. She will be hospitalized for 1-2 months while receiving multiple chemotherapy treatments.
I have started this Go Fund Me to help with the enormous unexpected expenses Mom and Dad Rachel and Chuck Balash will be faced with. Chuck cannot take time off of work, as he is their sole provider, working 60 hours a week and having to get monthly treatments himself for the Crohn’s Disease that almost killed him. They welcomed baby girl Charlie 2 months ago, so you can see the dilemma they are in. Any funds raised will be used directly for food, gas, transportation, hotel rooms, and whatever they need so someone can be with Evie during this difficult time. She is understandably scared and having her Mom by her side is crucial.
I want to thank you in advance for anything you can contribute. If you have Target or Walmart gift cards not being used, feel free to drop them off at the winery (1947 See Cyn Rd. SLO Ca 93405). We will put them to good use and God Bless you all for taking the time to read this. PLEASE SHARE !!
