Help Sweet Ellie & The Croffut Family Through This Difficult Time
Hi, my name is Ben, and I’m reaching out for my niece, Eleanor (Ellie), who has already faced more challenges in her five years than most do in a lifetime.
When Ellie was born in 2019, she was diagnosed with Choanal Atresia, a rare condition that required a month-long stay at Children’s Hospital. Her parents fought through that difficult time, managing overwhelming medical bills while ensuring she got the best care possible.
Now, they are facing another heartbreaking battle. Ellie has been admitted to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, where she has undergone a week of intensive testing for Leukemia and other potential genetic conditions. While her family waits anxiously for answers, the emotional and financial burden continues to grow.
The Croffut family has always been strong, but they need our help. Medical bills will start piling up again, and with the constant trips between home and the hospital, gift cards for gas, food, and daily essentials would be an incredible blessing.
If you can, please donate or share this with your community. Every bit of support – big or small – will help ease the financial strain and allow Ellie’s parents to focus on what matters most: getting their little girl the care she needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.

Update from her Dad:
On Tuesday (1/28/25), Eleanor received results from a lab test which revealed critically low white and red blood cell counts, as well as severe iron deficiency. We were advised to take her immediately to the pediatric ED at Sacred Heart, where further testing confirmed the findings and raised concern for leukemia. That night, Eleanor was admitted to the pediatric oncology unit. Our brave girl has handled every challenge—blood transfusions, iron infusions, IV fluids, biopsies, and countless tests—with remarkable strength. While we still don’t have a confirmed diagnosis, we are now fairly certain it is not leukemia, though we await final results. We have learned that she has portal vein occlusion and an enlarged spleen, which brings new questions and the need for further specialist evaluations. There is no current timeline for discharge, and the medical team is not yet speculating on the underlying cause(s). She is waiting to meet with several specialists and she is waiting for an EGD and colonoscopy. This is especially challenging as this specialty care provider is out of network for her healthcare coverage, which we are requesting appeals.
