On Friday, September 15, a small kitten was found by my work. She was clean, well-fed, placed in a box by the river with two cans of open food. So obviously abandoned.
She's incredibly sweet and vocal. Butt when she walks, she favors her back left leg. She can't run or jump.
Being the immense cat-lover that I am, I took her in. I thought it was a just a broken leg. So cast and some shots, no problem. I took her to a vet in Logan Square, who take x-rays and discover that not only is her femur broken and at a 45° angle, her hip is out of joint. So that means surgery. And some of the quotes are coming in at $7,000.
This is where you come in. I do have money saved, but not that much. I am hoping that enough kind-hearted individuals such as yourselves can help defray the cost for this adorable kitten who absolutely did not deserve this.
She is so sweet. She loves to curl up right next to you, or right up on your neck. She will lean against you, favoring her bad leg. She has these tiny little meows that just melt your heart. I am trying not to speculate on how her injury happened. Instead, I would like to be able to get her as close to 100% as possible.
