Imagine being just two years old.
Instead of spending your days playing, exploring the world, and making childhood memories, you're spending them in hospitals. You learn to hold out your tiny arm for blood tests. You sit through chemotherapy. You undergo surgeries, blood transfusions, stem cell transplants, endless scans, and treatments that most adults could never imagine facing.
This is the reality for little Dallas.
Since being diagnosed with cancer before his second birthday, Dallas has shown incredible courage. Doctors and nurses have been amazed by his strength, his smile, and his determination through every procedure and every setback. He has already endured chemotherapy, major surgery to remove a tumour, stem cell transplants, countless hospital stays, blood transfusions, and months of treatment—and he continues to fight with the heart of a true little superhero.
But no child fights cancer alone.
Standing beside Dallas every single step of the way have been his grandparents, Karen and Murray Laronde.
From the moment cancer entered Dallas's life, Karen and Murray have become much more than grandparents. They have been caregivers, comforters, travel companions, advocates, and a constant source of love and security. They have spent countless weeks in hospitals, travelled wherever treatment was needed, taken turns staying by his bedside, and put their own lives completely on hold so Dallas would never have to face this journey alone.
Now, just when they hoped they were nearing the end of this difficult journey, another unexpected challenge has appeared.
Dallas requires a highly specialized radiation treatment that cannot be provided in Canada because of his size. His only option is to travel to Florida for approximately six weeks of treatment. While the program covers Dallas's travel and one accompanying adult, the reality is that this little boy needs both Karen and Murray with him. They have been his safe place, his routine, and his strength throughout this entire battle.
Karen and Murray are retired, and while they would do absolutely anything for Dallas, the cost of spending six weeks away from home—including meals, transportation, and everyday living expenses for a second caregiver—is significant. We're hoping to ease that burden so they can focus entirely on supporting Dallas through his treatment.
That is why we are asking for your help.
Every dollar donated will help make it possible for both Karen and Murray to be in Florida supporting Dallas during this critical stage of his treatment.
No grandparent should have to choose between being with the child they love and worrying about how they'll afford to stay.
If you are able, please consider making a donation. No amount is too small, and every contribution will help ease the financial burden so this family can focus on what truly matters—helping Dallas beat cancer.
If you aren't able to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your family, friends, and community.
Together, we can surround this brave little boy and his incredible family with the same love and support they have shown him every single day.
Thank you on behalf of his parents, big brother, auntie Julie and gran Karen and powpow Murray for helping Dallas continue his fight.
