Help Little Bird Heal and Fly Home

As many of you may know, this summer, our daughter Lara started Lara’s Pet Care (LPC) with a dream to not only care for pets, but also give back to animals in need. A few months prior to that, as a family, we became foster parents through For The Love of Birds NJ (FTLOB) , a wonderful 501(c)(3) rescue. https://ftlob.rescuegroups.org/

Our very first foster, Little Bird, is a gentle 6-year-old cockatiel with the sweetest spirit. Sadly, he had developed a painful foot infection. After antibiotics didn’t work, he needed surgery and still requires ongoing care for a few more weeks. The happy news is he already has a forever family waiting for him—the hard part is that his medical bills are now over $2,000 and rising. He will need ongoing care for quite a while until he heals completely. The Dr. said he'll be on antibiotics for quite some time, being the infection was so severe.  

Lara has chosen FTLOB as the first organization she’ll support with some of her new business earnings, but she knows her contribution alone isn’t enough. That’s why we’re reaching out. This GoFundMe will help cover Little Bird’s recovery costs, and if we go beyond that, it will also help other foster birds waiting for their second chance.
