Help Little Bird Heal

Hi friends,

Many of you know Little Bird (aka Birdie), but for those who don't, she is my dad Patrick's beloved rescue dog. Birdie was found loose in a Walmart parking lot in 2016, and my family took her in as a foster. The "foster" part didn't last long, and she's been part of the family ever since.

On Monday, September 26th, Birdie was struck by a vehicle in a driveway and suffered severe injuries. She has multiple injuries in her pelvic region and a broken femur, among other injuries. These are life-threatening injuries for a dog, particularly an 8-pound Chihuahua mix, but Little Bird is a fighter.

Thanks to the team at Marqueen Emergency Vet, Birdie is expected to recover, but she has a long road ahead of her. She will need surgeries on her pelvis and femur once her pelvis stabilizes.

If you know my dad, you know that Birdie is his world, and he would do anything for her. However, this is a significant unexpected expense, and Birdie's vet bills will continue accumulating through her surgeries and recovery.
