Help Lisie Beat Cancer

A couple of months ago our sister, mother, wife, friend (she fills a lot of roles!) felt a lump and knew she should go get it checked.
A mammogram, sonogram and a biopsy confirmed the worst: Invasive Ductal Carcinoma- the most common type of breast cancer.
The cancer is invasive and has the capacity to spread through the lymph nodes.
The mass measures at around 4 cm, but thankfully doctors don't think it has spread to the lymph nodes around the tissue.
Lisie also tested positive as a carrier of the gene that's associated with breast cancer. Her doctors think the best way to tackle everything is through a double mastectomy to remove all risks which hopefully won't require chemo or radiation.
For those of you that don’t know her, just to give you a glimpse - Lisie is smart, creative, resourceful, crafty, funny, faithful, supportive, hard working, has a HUGE heart and loves her family without reserve. To make a long story longer, she is absolutely a beautiful human being, inside and out. We recognize we're a little biased but well, truth is truth.
She's dedicated her life to serving others, especially her children as a stay-at-home mom. Her husband Jonathan works as a pastor in Texas, and they live a modest life, budgeting the best they can, trying to provide the best lives they can for their kids.
But there's some things in life that you can't predict and you can't budget for.
For those of you who do know her, she's not quick to ask for help, but, sometimes, even the strongest of us could use a little help, even when we're not asking for it.
Here are a couple of ways you can help:
-Donations: The cost for a double mastectomy and reconstruction typically ranges anywhere from $15,000-$50,000 (even with insurance). While Lisie thankfully has health insurance, she doesn't yet know what it will cover and will have additional expenses to endure before and after recovery. She'll also be out of commission for several months as she recovers.
She's a fighter and has kept in good spirits, and we're confident that she'll win this battle. But, it could cripple their family financially.
-Prayer: Lisie's recovery should be from 6-8 weeks and is oftentimes described as painful and quite uncomfortable. Please pray for total healing, wisdom, guidance and faith as Lisie, her husband and three kids face this challenge.

Hace un par de meses, nuestra hermana, madre, esposa, amiga (¡cumple muchos papeles!) Sintió una masa y supo que debía ir a que lo revisaran.
Una mamografía, una ecografía y una biopsia confirmaron lo peor: Carcinoma Ductal Invasivo, el tipo más común de cáncer de mama.
El cáncer es invasivo y tiene la capacidad de diseminarse a través de los ganglios linfáticos.

Para aquellos de ustedes que no la conocen, solo para darle un vistazo: Lisie es inteligente, creativa, ingeniosa, astuta, divertida, fiel, solidaria, trabajadora, tiene un corazón ENORME y ama a su familia sin reservas. Para hacer una larga historia más larga, ella es un ser humano absolutamente hermoso, por dentro y por fuera. Reconocemos que somos un poco parciales, pero bueno, la verdad es la verdad.
Ella ha dedicado su vida a servir a los demás, especialmente a sus hijos, como ama de casa. Su esposo Jonathan trabaja como pastor en Texas y viven una vida modesta, presupuestando lo mejor que pueden, tratando de brindarles la mejor vida posible a sus hijos.
Pero hay algunas cosas en la vida que no puedes predecir y por lo cual no puedes presupuestar.
Para aquellos de ustedes que la conocen, ella no se apresura a pedir ayuda, pero, a veces, incluso los más fuertes de nosotros necesitan un poco de ayuda, incluso cuando no la estamos pidiendo.
