Hi, my name is Lissette Hernandez.

I am currently battling bladder cancer, and while I was in the hospital receiving treatment, I suffered the greatest heartbreak imaginable — I lost my beautiful daughter, Chelsea, to suicide. My youngest daughter and I have been deeply affected by this tragedy. Our lives have changed completely as we grieve the loss of someone so full of love and light.

We are now doing our best to navigate this new reality, but it has been incredibly difficult — emotionally and financially. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many, I’ve been able to pay $5,000 toward our back rent. However, we still owe a total of $20,000, and my Social Security benefits alone are not enough to keep us afloat.

I am humbly asking for your continued support. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to help my daughter and me stay secure and continue rebuilding our lives.

We are also in need of basic furniture — a sofa, a mattress, a kitchen table — anything you may be able to donate will go towards our rental rears and providing a home of time of grief any amount would be deeply appreciated.
