Help Lisa's Mom Overcome Cancer and Financial Strain

Hi Friends and Family,

As most of you know, I don’t ask for help or share a lot on my family and any struggles that we are going through, as I’m very aware all families go through hard times. Unfortunately life has reached a point where Im asking for compassion and help in supporting my mom. Since the end of 2019 my mom has been battling breast cancer, it’s come with many ups and downs… from hopeful moments to some that leave you feeling desperate for hope.

During this time there comes the large amount of medical bills and extra expenses you don’t ever anticipate (they were evacuated from there home for over a month due to the Caldor fire and several other expenses including their fur-babies).

All of this in the 4 + years has drained her retirement funds and the struggle has began to make the mortgage payment and day to day needs. Although we and other family members are doing what we can to help, it’s a band-aid for the time being. We are looking into programs that may be available, but all of that takes time and that is not something that is on our side right now. Understanding that funds are tight for everyone, any help you are able to give, we are extremely grateful for. Also, if anyone has advice or suggestions on long-term solutions it would be very appreciated.
