Help Lisa's Heart Recovery: 40 Days in ICU

Hello, today I received a call from Mike, a fellow volunteer with Deming Animal Guardians. His beloved wife, married for 40 years, has now been in the ICU for over 40 days due to severe complications related to her heart valve and A-Fib. As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly frightening and emotional period for everyone involved.

Lisa has actually experienced cardiac arrest three times but was revived by the skilled medical staff at Las Palmas Hospital.

Surrounded by love and prayers, she continues to fight as doctors in El Paso, TX, work to stabilize her with the necessary medications. We are hopeful that she will be home by Saturday, where family and friends will help Mike care for her.

Meanwhile, the medical bills are beginning to accumulate as Mike balances running their grooming business with the additional challenge of managing DAGSHIP Rescue, their no-kill animal rescue. His greatest fear is losing his life partner and everything they have built together. Regrettably, they did not have insurance when this tragedy struck, which included an initial $90K helicopter ride from Deming, NM, to El Paso.

With over 40 days in ICU, the costs could reach as high as $2 million!
