Help Lisa With Medical and Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Many of you know my best friend Lisa Hancock. Many of you love and cherish her friendship because she is always there for you in your time of need or sorrow. When you didn't know where to go, Lisa helped you with many of your aging parents' needs. Her amazing voice may have blessed you when she sang at your loved one's funeral, or wedding, or in church or even your elderly daddy when he just needed to hear Lisa sing to him. Her voice and compassion has helped countless numbers of people who were hurting and desperate. Lisa has always been the champion of the underdog, giving her time and talents to others in their time of struggle or need.
Lisa needs our help now. Her husband Mike, was taken to the emergency room at BSA on June 20th in cardiac arrest. It wasn't long before they determined Mike's situation to be extremely critical and was soon put on a vent and a heart pump. Mike's situation did not improve and the cardiac surgeons in Amarillo determined they couldn't perform the critical surgery he so badly needed. Mike had suffered from Type 1 diabetes nearly all of his life and had a kidney transplant 16 years ago, so his case had many complications. On Monday June 22nd, he was flown to Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. Again, he was immediately put on a vent and they tried to stabilize him, strengthen his lungs and hope for surgery soon. Because of COVID concerns, Lisa and his mom were unable to even see him for three days. After two negative test results, Lisa was able to finally be able to see him. He was heavily sedated, on the vent, so she really wasn't able to communicate with him. Mike's condition continued to deteriorate and it became apparent that there was nothing more they could do for him. Mike passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020.
Some of you have asked how can you help Lisa. Of course your thoughts and prayers and words of comfort are critically important at this time. But Lisa will also need help to pay for funeral expenses and overwhelming medical expenses.
I am asking if any of you have been blessed by friendship with Lisa, or she helped your parents with long term care, medicare, or she blessed your family by singing at their bedside, funeral, wedding. or she simply sang to your 90 year old dad with dementia and danced with him in your living room, simply because it brought him joy, can you help Lisa with these expenses? Any donation would be appreciated and every donation helps. We also covet your prayers. This will be so very hard for Lisa, losing her husband of many years and the trauma of the last few weeks.
Now is the time to give back to Lisa in any way you can. Help to cover Mike's medical and funeral expenses here through Go Fund Me. Whether you can donate monetarily or not, keep her in your prayers, and well wishes. She needs all of us.
Thank you,
Gaye Reeves
